Perhaps there should also be results from the two Quebec referenda on independence?

Probably not unless we refer to the various other referenda which has been held in other provinces on other issues - Jord 06:15, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I moved this to Referenda in Canada because the article used the form "referenda" throughout. If anyone wants to move it back I won't object, but the pluralization needs to stay consistent. —No-One Jones (m) 06:18, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I will edit this article to use referendums instead of referenda, and then move the article to Referendums in Canada. This will conform to the note on terminology in the referendum article, and also match the naming of articles such as Referendums in Australia. --thirty-seven 06:13, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nova Scotia

[edit]

The Sunday shopping vote in Nova Scotia was not a referendum but a plebiscite and should be removed from here. Wonnkabe 14:11, 27 July 2006 (UTC) I did this Wonnkabe 19:35, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Electoral reform referendum

[edit]

Doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon, is it? Arguably, the Conservatives, NPD and Bloc could enact such legislation currently, but I really don't know why the Bloc should do so -- it can only lose through electoral reform... —Nightstallion (?) 21:14, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused. In the case of national referenda, the votes are shown broken down by province. Is this important in determining whether a referendum has passed? That is, what are the rules? 70.50.63.63 (talk) 03:36, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Should be "Referenda"

[edit]

Shouldn't the title be "Referenda in Canada"? I've never heard "referendums" before, and it just sounds wrong. I'm open to correction if Canadians pluralise "referendum" as "referendums" rather than the standard "referenda", but I've never heard "referendums" before. 123.3.134.159 (talk) 05:39, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
