Copyright Violation
[edit]Most of the text of this article is stolen from the Hall of Fame website. I'm finding this problem with many players. In this case, it was added in a December 2005 edit from an anonymous poster. I'm removing the offending text. Someone else will have to come up with something suitable, perhaps from versions that existed prior to Deceomber 2005. Anson2995 23:00, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Other Comments
[edit]Need to add something about his pro basketball career, which was concurrent with his pro football career.
Also, that he was an outstanding (All Pro, I think??) defensive back for the first part of his career, since many pro football players "played both ways", i.e., had starting positions on both the offensive and defensive squads.
You are talking about college football, not pro. Sonny never played DB in the NFL. 198.45.193.38 (talk) 03:04, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
The birth date in the "summary box" in the upper right listes his birthday as November 9. It's August 23, which you state correctly in the opening of the article.Jurgyfan 18:04, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Edited the part about his memorable game in 1965 when he brought the Redskins back from 21-0 against Dallas to win 34-31. The game was NOT on Thanksgiving Day. It was on the following Sunday. In addition, the Redskins and Cowboys have played 6 times on the actual Thanksgiving Day and Dallas has won all 6 times. Check your facts next time

Bumper Stickers
[edit]I'm not prepared to edit the entry but my recollection, confirmed by a Google images search, is that the bumper stickers said "I root for Washington and I like [Sonny or Billy]" I don't recall any bumper stickers expressing "love" for either player. Does someone agree with me enough to make this edit?
