Onemonkey is the online alias of Caspar Addyman, an ape-descended biped most commonly found stumbling round London after dark.

The name derives from the well known Infinite monkey theorem, which states something to the effect that with enough monkeys tapping randomly on enough typewriters eventually (at least) one will produce the Complete Works of Shakespeare. A light-hearted assertion in probability that has lead to many jokes. In particular, there is a version attributed to Blair Houghton

Come to think of it, there are already a million monkeys on a million typewriters, and Usenet is NOTHING like Shakespeare.

This version lead Caspar to the realisation that he was just one monkey out of millions, and adding to this the fact that he knew that he would never write anything resembling Shakespeare, lead him to refomulate the theorem in mathematical notation.
