Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Micronation
There's only a few real micronations out there, like Sealand. But most micronations are roleplay games and internet clubs. If the article were restricted to the few real ones it would be OK. But it isn't. Belgsoc 03:54, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Yes, I agree that Micronation debates are the #1 cause of flame and edit wars here on Wikipedia, as every off-the-handle self-proclaimed "emperor" of his own micronation becomes hostile when his micronation is debated on this page. Basically, Micronations are the 21-century-version of all those people in looney bins proclaiming "I am Napeleon!". That said, this article could probably be worked out as long as we gent enough editors with the backbone and courage to stand up to all of the self-proclaimed Napeleons when they go ballistic. Things like Sealand are certaintly notable enough. That said, it is very important we make it clear that these micronations are delusions of the mentally ill, and that we don't take those people's fantasies seriously. Samboy 03:57, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Comment: I will not bother registering a vote for this VfD because the article's notability is already clearly established and will be supported by others. I will however point out that Belgsoc is a crank editor, registered for less than a week, who has maliciously listed this article as a direct result of the imminent successful VfD listing for Societas Via Romana, a group that he/she is apparently a member of, and the imminent failed VfD revenge listing for the Empire of Atlantium that was initiated by Belgsoc. If anyone wishes to initiate a temporary ban on Belgsoc on the grounds of abusing community standards I will be happy to support it.--Gene_poole 04:46, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)
