Rename Page "The Evergreen State College"
[edit]Format change for "notable alumni" section
[edit]hi
I never edited a wiki page so this is my first time trying.
is it possible to set up the "notable people" section of The Evergreen State College page to be set in same style as Emerson College's?
our school has distinguished list of people that should be more easily known if I can do it please let me know how.

It's The Evergreen State College, regardless of anybody's opinion.
[edit]I must say, unilaterally renaming this institution is the most egregious case of Wikipedian arrogance I've seen in three decades. To begin with, there is no American state called "Evergreen", so our confirmed title here is nonsensical. The school is [The Evergreen State][College]. Because Washington is The Evergreen State. Get it? It's another way to say Washington. At no time has this institution of higher learning ever been named [the][Evergreen State College].
Of course I understand that there's widespread public confusion over this matter. Even in Washington we refer colloquially to TESC (note the universally-used acronym: TESC) as "Evergreen". We also call Washington State University "Wazzu", but last I checked nobody made that the title of our entry on it.
That there was a formal decision-making process on this issue, and it resulted in continued purveyance of a bald-faced inaccuracy, is shameful. We need to dump self-serving appeals to "popular usage" and correct the false information in this article. Factual accuracy is Job 1 on Wikipedia, before turf wars, fatuous definitions of democracy, or denial of our mistakes. If we're not doing that, we're not doing anything. TESC
[edit]Why are we calling The Evergreen State College "Evergreen State College"? It's absolutely not the name of the institution.
I'm shocked by absolute wrongness of it. Slugicide (talk) 17:28, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
