Note
[edit]Please note that .177 inch is the smallest diameter of lead pellets commonly used in air rifles. Steel BB shot is .175 inch diameter, and bullets for 17-caliber firearms (both rimfire and centerfire) are .172 inch diameter. Production of 14-caliber barrels, rifles and bullets is a tiny but continuing cottage industry in the USA, while 12-caliber rifles have been made on an experimental basis.
