Spam
[edit]Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page A Christmas Carol have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. - You mean, a commercial website like this with 2 big google ads, a donation button, a "Purchase on CD" request and a false link text (this version is not searchable) is ok but a special version of the "Christmas Carol" for easy reading is Spam? -- net 19:18, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
removing links from English language learning and teaching
[edit]Hi -
Can you explain why you removed two of the resource links from the English language learning and teaching page?
It's not a big deal to me, but I thought that an additional resource link for the "Non-Native English Speakers in TESOL Caucus" was far preferable to having a whole page for that topic, which is where it was before.

Curly quotes
[edit]The main reason I've converted curly quotes to straight quotes is uniformity. In English as a second or foreign language there are over 75 pairs of double quotes (and one isolated one that was a curly quote — that needs further review), but only 4 or so pairs of curly quotes. (Occasionally curly quotes have been used to encapsulate straight quotes or vice versa, but not here.) Mark Hurd (talk) 08:23, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
Stop or else you'll get banned.
[edit]You have no right to hold dominion over the TEFL page. Either we get along or I contact wikipedia to point out your obvious conflict of interest in staking (false) claim to the page with your personal business of https://www.ego4u.com/ . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navie42 (talk • contribs) 16:52, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
